"Natures' Fireworks," opal is the birthstone for those born in October. 95% of all fine opals come from the outback of Australia. The name Opal is derived from the Sanskrit word “upala” (valuable stone). Opals have the ability to refract light since they contain up to 30% water in them, creating a iridescent colors cheme.
